What The Heck To Do With Apple Cider Vinegar
Feb 08, 2017
Looking for a way to consume apple cider vinegar without ruining your tooth enamel and doing a number on your esophagus? Here are some tips:
If you are looking for a less processed vinegar make sure you are purchasing unfiltered apple cider vinegar as opposed to filtered. Unfiltered apple cider contains the "mother" and has more of a complex flavor.
Apple cider vinegar makes a great marinade? Because of its acidic nature, it can be used to tenderize meats and veggies. I place my meat, poultry or veggies in a bag along with olive oil, apple cider vinegar, fresh herbs and a little kosher salt. I usually let it sit in the fridge for an hour and then bake in oven or place on grill.
Another great way to use apple cider vinegar is in salad dressings. Here is one of my favorite recipes:
Apple Cider Vinaigrette

- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup white wine vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. Dijon mustard
- 2 Tbsp. honey
- 1/4 tsp. kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1 1/2 Tbsps. minced shallots
Combine ingredients in a mason jar. Close lid and shake well. Serve immediately and refrigerate leftover salad dressing. This dressing can be used for salads or on cooked veggies. It's also great to use as a vinegar based coleslaw.
